Thurgood Marshall College Fund The Thurgood Marshall College Fund, named for the late U.S. Supreme Court Associate Justice, is the only national organization of its type that provides merit-based scholarships and support to students attending the nation's historically black public colleges and universities. The goal of the TMCF is to be the premier organization in Black Higher Education by helping to develop and prepare a new generation of leaders by delivering resources, opportunities and advocacy to Public Historically Black Colleges & Universities, students and alumni. Since its inception in 1987, the Fund has awarded more than $50 million in scholarships and support, enabling more than 5,000 students to attend its over 45 member schools. The TMCF also develops internship programs and joins corporate and foundation partners in providing leadership training and support to students preparing for undergraduate and professional schools.
