Susan G. Komen Foundation For The Cure

Susan G. Komen for the Cure Susan G. Komen for the Cure was born in a promise between two sisters. Nancy G. Brinker promised her dying sister, Susan G. Komen, she would do everything in her power to end breast cancer forever. In 1982, that promise became Susan G. Komen for the Cure and launched the global breast cancer movement that today is the world's largest grassroots network of breast cancer survivors and activists fighting to save lives, empower people, and energize science to find the cures. Thanks to events like the Komen Race for the Cure, the organization has invested nearly $1 billion to fulfill their promise of becoming the largest source of nonprofit funds dedicated to the fight against breast cancer in the world. An estimated 178,480 new cases of invasive breast cancer are expected to occur among women in the United States during 2007; at Wirefly we want to help reduce this number by supporting Susan G. Komen for the Cure’s efforts in battling breast cancer.
